About the Artist
I am Detroit-born painter and educator known for a bold, maximalist approach to art. I create vibrant, statement-making works that celebrate color and texture. My work exists in a space where the world collapses inward and reemerges as a maximalist explosion of color, texture, and form. Reality becomes heightened, almost dreamlike, allowing imagination to take over. Layers build upon one another intuitively, creating compositions that feel abundant, immersive, and alive. Through this visual density, I aim to create a world that feels rich with emotion rather than restraint. Faces are central to my practice. Facial features act as portals to the soul - eyes, lips, expressions, and gestures become symbols of inner worlds rather than literal representations. I am drawn to the idea that the face holds memory, imagination, and identity all at once. By exaggerating, repeating, or abstracting these features, I explore how emotion can exist beyond realism and how beauty can be expressive, powerful, and unapologetic. Color and texture are the driving forces within this world. They function as emotional language - vibrant, layered, and sometimes overwhelming - mirroring the complexity of inner life. I allow the work to unfold naturally, without rigid planning, trusting instinct and intuition to guide the process. This openness creates space for surprise, discovery, and transformation. My work is ultimately an offering of joy, imagination, and visual intensity - an invitation for the viewer to feel, linger, and step into a world shaped by optimism and wonder.
